@ the Lab: Your thoughts, please.

I love change.  I rearrange furniture for no particular reason.  My office floats around the county (as long as it’s got wifi and it’s in a different place than yesterday, it’ll do!).  I jack with the seating in our sanctuary for no good reason.  I rework my weekly calendar…er, uhm…almost weekly.

I just love change.  It’s a huge reason why I love my job.  In the midst of the ongoing quest to be more effective, we’re always kicking around the next idea (by “we” I mean the leader types at my church). Some ideas are good.  Some are great.  Most of them are dumb. We often wish we had an easy way to share the ideas with others and get feedback.  Like a focus group…but less focused.

Some ideas are good.  Some are great.  Most of them are dumb.

This seems like as good a place as any, so here it is: Vineyard Lab. When we’re stumped on whether or not to implement something, teach something, or how to improve something, I’ll post it and hope for your feedback.

It might be a poll question, like this (go ahead, try it out):

How Is My Site?

Or I might just ask for comments, like: “What are the pros and cons of firing Matt? Leave a comment and let me know.”

Either way, I’m really hoping for some feedback, whether it’s from vineyardites or not…so stay tuned!

Tip:One way to make sure you don’t miss out is to subscribe to the feed.

    Reasons to fire matt
#1 Teri’s office will be much neater

#2 Calculators will be easier to find

    #3 Less Grinchyness at Christmas

#4 He’d get a better paying job and we would have more tithe income

I ONLY think that this is a good idea because Matt’s Attention Surplus Syndrom can be put to good use. I have more ideas than I have time to address and I can pay him with food. Teri and Tatum probably would NOT appreciate this and could potentially suffer, so you would have to triple Teri’s pay… this is still in the early stages of consideration and my plan needs to be tweaked but you get the idea.

Gotta go with a dumb idea on this one; Matt’s my bro and all so I gotta have his back. I’ll also add that when you (A) have a techie idea who’s the guy that normally pulls out the impossible . . . and who’d do all those slick designs, lead worship, and all the other work you couldn’t pay anyone else to do? LOL

    Rick Denton,
funny stuff as always. #4 makes me a bit nervous…as smart as M@ is, we’re banking on him not figurin’ that one out.

I think you should let Matt go so he can come down to Athens and work for free! That way his attention surplus sydrome will balance out my ADD (I chose not to use the initials for his malady).

Matt is our token hat wearing guy at church. He must stay! Aaron you wear hats sometimes but it makes you look like a Backstreet Boy. J/K.

All I’m saying is Matt is the guy at the church that brings that campy late 80′s- early 90′s worship feel, and I think we’ll all agree every church needs that.
